A special shout-out goes to the Foothills PTA!  With their help, we will have one device assigned to each of our students in 1st through 5th grades.
With our hybrid model of instruction, which is highly tech-enriched, it is important that students have opportunities to collaborate and connect with others, as well as demonstrate their learning with these devices. By using their own device, safety from a health standpoint is also stronger due to the lower probability of cross-contamination. In addition, students tend to take better care of our property as they take more ownership.
Thanks so much, Foothills PTA! Your support is invaluable in these times.

Congratulations, Foothills Elementary! Our Promising Partnership Practice was accepted for the 2020 Colorado Department of Education state-wide publication for the third year in a row. Not only did we get recognized yet again, but we are featured twice this year in the CDE publication for both our 1st Grade READ Act Pilot (Standard 3—Supporting Student Success) and The HUB @ Foothills Foodies
(Standard 6—Collaborating with the Community).  Way to go Mrs. Cunningham, Mrs. LaViolette, Mrs. Kurtz,  Mrs. Marquez and the entire Foothills Family for all your hard work in making Foothills a World Class School!

Important Information:

Zoom Etiquette

It is important to remember that students working at home need a quiet place to work, free from distractions so that they are able to focus on their learning. Also, students need to practice active listening during Zoom learning sessions and engage in the learning with their peers.

Attention 5th Grade Families:

Please watch this presentation  about the Tech for Ed program.

We are committed to offering electives, programs, clubs, and extracurricular activities that align with the four Green Mountain High School academies.

Foothills Elementary School is a wonderful neighborhood school nestled in the foothills of the Green Mountain area in west Jefferson County. All Foothills students benefit from an innovation block every week where students have the opportunity to participate in activities that align with the four Green Mountain High School Academies (Arts, Performing Arts & Humanities, Business & Global Studies, Health & Human Services, and STEM).

Our school serves 279 students in preschool through 5th grade. We are dedicated to empowering our community to be lifelong learners, responsible citizens, and global leaders by incorporating 21st Century Skills in supporting the whole child, including incorporating social emotional learning as part of our daily instruction. Foothills supports Jeffco Generations by providing authentic tasks that help students to grow both socially and academically.
